The Similarities Between Islam and Christianity Essay...
At the first glance, Islam and Christianity appear to have nothing in common, however; as you go beyond the surface, they appear to have many similarities such as their beliefs of God, their beliefs of life after death, their holy scriptures, and their prayers. These religions, although are two entirely different beliefs, share a similar origin. Like many other religions, they both claim to be the one and only true way to God. In order to truly see and understand their similarities, one must date back to the rise and birth of Christianity and Islam. Throughout the course of this essay, I will compare the many facets that show the alikeness between these two growing religions. Although Islam and Christianity differ in major ways, they alsoâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦At the time of death, oneââ¬â¢s spirit will separate from their body and either ascend to heaven or be bound to Hell according to their deeds performed on Earth. Thatââ¬â¢s because it is believed that humans have the ability (free will) to choose between good and evil. Muslims and Christians believe that angels exist as well as Satan and his evil spirits who follow him: the enemies of humanity. Also, it is said by Muslims, that on the day Jesus returns, the Last Day, the dead will be resurrected and both the dead and alive will be judged. They will either be rewarded by going to heaven, or punished by going to hell. Likewise, Christians believe that on the last day, referred to as judgment day, God will bring forth his judgement upon all those: dead or alive. He will reward or punish them by sending them to either heaven or Hell. There is also much similarity between the two holy books of Islam and Christianity. Muslims follow the teachings in the Qurââ¬â¢an, while Christians follow the words of the Holy Bible. First off, there are many similarities between the Qurââ¬â¢anââ¬â¢s and Bibleââ¬â¢s version of many stories, such as: Adam and Eve, Moses and the children of Israel, etc. Also, the Ten Commandments, from the Bible, all have their corresponding parts in the Qurââ¬â¢an.
